Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026 · Version 2.0
1. Preamble
This policy aims to inform users of the practech.ch website about the cookies and trackers used, their purposes, their lifespan, and the means available to users to express or withdraw their consent.
It supplements the privacy policy of Practech and applies in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, SR 235.1), the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679) and the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC as amended). For clients based in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (UAE PDPL, Federal Decree-Law No. 45/2021) additionally applies.
2. Definition
A cookie is a small text file placed on your terminal (computer, smartphone, tablet) by the server of the visited site or by a third-party server, and read by your browser during subsequent visits. In particular, it allows information about your navigation and preferences to be stored, or you to be recognized from one page to another.
The term "cookie" broadly refers to all trackers: HTTP cookies, but also invisible pixels, local storage tokens (localStorage, sessionStorage), digital fingerprints (fingerprinting), and equivalent identifiers.
3. Categories of Cookies Used
Practech distinguishes four categories of cookies, of which only the strictly necessary cookies are placed without prior consent.
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site and the provision of services requested by the user. They do not require prior consent.
- __session · authentication session cookie (Supabase) — duration: session duration, deleted when the browser is closed.
- sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token · Supabase session tokens — duration: 7 days.
- csrf-token · CSRF protection token — duration: session.
- NEXT_LOCALE · stores the language chosen by the user — duration: 12 months.
- cookie-consent · stores the user's choice regarding the accepted cookie categories — duration: 13 months.
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the browsing experience to be personalized (light / dark theme, display currency, accessibility preferences). They require your prior consent.
- theme · appearance preference (light / dark / system) — duration: 12 months.
- currency · preferred display currency for prices — duration: 12 months.
3.3 Audience Measurement Cookies
When enabled, these cookies allow us to measure site audience and improve its content in an aggregated and anonymized manner. Practech favours privacy-friendly solutions (Plausible Analytics, hosted in the European Union, with no persistent cookies or transfer of personal data). When the tool is active, its use is subject to your consent.
- Plausible Analytics · anonymized audience measurement (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia) — no third-party cookies, no usable IP collected, GDPR-compliant with no banner required. Activation upcoming.
Practech does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel or any other third-party advertising tracking tool.
3.4 Third-Party Cookies for Integrated Services
Some cookies are placed by third-party providers essential to the operation of services integrated into the site. They are governed by the privacy policies of their respective publishers:
- Stripe · cookies __stripe_mid (12 months) and __stripe_sid (30 minutes), placed only during the payment process (3-D Secure).
- Cloudflare · security and network performance cookies (cf_clearance, __cf_bm). Duration: 30 minutes to 30 days.
- Supabase · authentication cookies listed above.
- PayTabs · payment cookies for Gulf clients (deployment upcoming).
4. Retention Period
In accordance with the recommendations of supervisory authorities, the maximum lifespan of cookies placed by Practech is 13 months from their first placement on your terminal. The consent, once given, is itself valid for a maximum duration of 13 months; upon expiry of this period, the consent banner is presented to the user again.
5. Consent Collection and Management
On your first visit, an information banner allows you to express your choice: accept all non-essential cookies, refuse them all, or customize your preferences by category. Refusal does not prevent navigation on the site, but may disable certain features (theme storage, currency, etc.). You may change your choices at any time:
- Via the "Manage my cookies" link at the bottom of the page (site footer).
- By deleting existing cookies in your browser settings, which will force the banner to reappear on your next visit.
You can withdraw your consent at any time:
6. Browser Configuration
You can configure your browser to accept, refuse or delete cookies. The procedure varies depending on the browser used (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
A general refusal of cookies may prevent certain services from working correctly (authentication, payment, language storage). Practech cannot be held responsible for the consequences of such refusal on the user experience.
7. Your Rights
For any additional information regarding your cookie-related rights, and more generally your personal data rights, as well as the procedures for exercising these rights, please consult our privacy policy.
In case of difficulty, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch) in Switzerland, your national supervisory authority in the European Union, or the UAE Data Office in the United Arab Emirates.
8. Changes to this Policy
Practech reserves the right to amend this cookie policy at any time, in particular to take into account technological, legal developments or the addition of new services. The date of the last update shown at the top of this page reflects the most recent applicable version.
